Since 1985
Forty years of dancers
Orange County Performing Arts Academy opened in Anaheim Hills in 1985, founded by Rhonda Gowen Chin — and passed, years later, to her own long-time student Rachel Miller. It has stayed what it started as: a family-focused studio holding the highest standards of technical excellence and creative, inspired choreography.
Today OCPAA trains dancers from 18 months to 18 years, beginner through nationally competitive. Whether your dancer chases a high-stakes competitive path or simply loves their Tuesday class, the season ends the same way for everyone: a professional studio-wide finale on a real stage.
The faculty
At OCPAA, students can achieve their best because the teachers are the best — active leaders in the dance world who conduct master classes across the globe, choreograph for top-tier programs, and judge major competitions.
Rachel Miller
Owner & Director
Owner of OCPAA after 15+ years as Company Director, with hundreds of choreography awards behind the program. Danced competitively for 11 years, captained the Esperanza High dance team, and won a UDA National Championship with Cal State Fullerton — the first of CSUF’s 11 dance teams to do it. Graduated CSUF in Child and Adolescent Studies, and has dedicated herself to educating, mentoring, and inspiring dancers ever since.
